Description
The Grand Seiko ‘Moondrop’ Mechanical GMT takes inspiration from late Autumn nights, when sparkling dewdrops glimmer in the moonlight.
‘The Nature of Time’ theme features prominently in Grand Seiko watch designs – a Japanese spirituality where each moment is a unique expression unveiled through light and shadow. The watchmakers’ pride in their surroundings is represented from engineering watch movements, to creating dials reflecting the beauty of Japanese nature.
Joining the Grand Seiko Elegance collection, as a ‘Contemporary Classic,’ the box-sapphire crystal glass showcases a midnight blue geometric pressed dial pattern representing the scenery of Shizukuishi, where all Grand Seiko mechanical timepieces are crafted.
This timepiece features a gold-coloured steel GMT hand for tracking a second timezone, and is paired with a dark blue crocodile leather strap.
Through the exhibition caseback the in-house 9S66 mechanical movement can be seen, which is accurate to +5/-3 seconds per day with a 72-hour power reserve.
Every Grand Seiko features signature high standards of precision, durability and legibility, handcrafted in Japan by Takumi artisans.
