Grand Seiko Snowflake Compact 33mm 9F Quartz

This Grand Seiko features the brand’s iconic ‘Snowflake’ dial – a distinct design inspired by the windswept snow of Japan’s Hotaka mountains surrounding the Grand Seiko studio. In the crisp, dry air, driven across the slopes by the wind, this snow has a special light and delicate quality captured in the subtly textured surface of the dial.

‘The Nature of Time’ theme features prominently in Grand Seiko watch designs – a Japanese spirituality in whch each moment is a unique expression unveiled through light and shadow. The watchmakers’ pride in their surroundings is represented from engineering watch movements to creating dials reflecting the beauty of Japanese nature.

Created in a compact 33mm diameter size, the white snowflake dial is encased in a dual-sapphire glass with anti-reflective coating. Its silver-coloured hands are signature Grand Seiko – sharp and intricate – accompanied by the recognisable tempered blue second hand.

With an in-house built 9F51 Quartz calibre, it is accurate to +/-10 seconds per year and has a date feature at 3 o’clock. By growing its own crystals in-house, Grand Seiko is able to create quartz movements with unrivalled performance; each crystal is carefully aged over three months, and only the highest quality are selected. Its individual characteristics are programmed into each Calibre 9F watch’s IC to ensure stable, high precision over time.
