Description
There are just fifteen pieces of this limited edition green garnet, mother of pearl, diamond and platinum jewel design available globally.
The design of this timepiece is inspired by the mysterious “Mishaka” pond in Japan which reflects the changing nature of time and its seasons like a mirror. The pond is a stone’s throw from the Micro Artist studio – Seiko Watch Corporation’s elite artisan studio in which each watch has been crafted by hand.
‘The Nature of Time’ theme features prominently in Grand Seiko watch designs – a Japanese spirituality where each moment is a unique expression unveiled through light and shadow. The watchmakers’ pride in their surroundings is represented from engineering watch movements which emulate the smooth motion of time passing, to creating dials reflecting the beauty of Japanese nature.
This model is powered by the 9R01 Spring Drive movement with a power reserve of 8 days – five days more than any previous Spring Drive calibres. Uniquely pioneered by Seiko Watch Corporation’s watchmakers, Spring Drive generates energy like a conventional mechanical watch with a mainspring but combines this with an electronic regulator to deliver superior precision, never requiring a battery change.
Spring Drive is only available in Seiko Watch corporation timepieces. Its platinum case is Zaratsu polished – a signature Grand Seiko feature where experts hand polish each case to a ‘mirror like’ finish for added light refraction, but newly developed on platinum timepieces.
Grand Seiko: beautifully, precise Japanese watchmaking, from the pinnacle of Seiko Watch Corporation’s in-house manufacture. Every Grand Seiko features signature high standards of Japanese precision, durability and legibility, handcrafted by Takumi artisans.
