This limited-edition timepiece is available globally, exclusively to members of the Grand Seiko owners’ club – The GS9 Club – with a very limited number arriving in the UK.
The dial of this Grand Seiko Elegance Collection watch is finished in ‘Minatonezu’ colour – a blue-green with a subtle grey tone, drawn from the Shijūhatcha Hyakunezumi, a palette of traditional Japanese colours that flourished among the townspeople of the Edo period. Quiet, nuanced and distinctly Japanese, it is a colour unlike anything seen before in the Grand Seiko collection. The iconic Arabic numeral ‘9’ is symbolic of Grand Seiko’s pursuit of ultimate watchmaking and representative of the GS9 Club itself – is rendered here in perfect harmony with the refined simplicity of the dial. The sustainable LWG calf leather strap with grain texture complements the subtle depth of the dial. At the heart of the watch is the proprietary calibre 9R31, a manual-winding Spring Drive movement accurate to +/-1 second per day with a 72-hour power reserve.
Every Grand Seiko features signature high standards of precision, durability and legibility, handcrafted in Japan by Takumi artisans.
